( by now he knows that they do best over video; also, this question, what he aims to ask, is best asked face to face. the idea entered his mind in an earlier period, however. this is the longest that he can wait. judging only by his collected--though vaguely challenging--smile you wouldn't know how hard it was for him to concentrate through the previous period. )

I'm flattered that you've taken to spying on me. [How could he not point that out. It isn't exactly a topic that frequents everyday conversation. But it's not simple enough to just poke fun; it also gives him a place to voice his pleasure.]

And intrigued by what you have in mind.

What can I say? My parental instincts were pinged. ( pauses and tries to hold some suspense before he lays down his offer, but that's kind of ruined by how hard he's trying not to smile. )

So it's also a matter of pride, you see. I'm sure that a day at the aquarium would be all it takes.

[Pride is all well and good and perhaps under any other circumstances he might have made some stand against it. But there will be plenty more opportunity for that when his stomach is currently distracting him with the way it overturns and releases a vibrant wave of unanticipated bliss.]

So it's a date.

( he can't protest that nomenclature he wouldn't have broached, but any sense that he has to save face, or confirm, or do anything else at all helpful to planning mometarily falls under the penumbra cast by a lucent happiness, so visceral it's giving him stomach cramps. then he takes a quick exuberant breath to add: )

[Alit isn't used to seeing Michael so open and accessible -- not that they ever had a particular need to be covert anymore. But even through the screen, he shines impassionedly and Alit thinks he could get used to it.]

Even if I didn't, I can make time if it's for you.

( not a single tinge of doubt, he's just talking now, which actually requires some effort, he must speak through the soreness from his smile. it's an attempt to match Alit's smugness but what kind of a competitor--with no experience to speak of--can he be? he has no practise with holding himself back from bliss. )

Then I'll just have to hold you to it. For both our pleasures.
